A Message About Us

from Dr. Mark Sanna

How did Breakthrough Coaching begin?

I began my Breakthrough Coaching experience as a client. Having grown up in the profession, as a second-generation chiropractor, my goal from a very young age was to become a practice management consultant. With this goal in mind, I became a student of professional practice managers. I was a client of most of the recognized brand name practice management programs, and attending professional development seminars enabled me to learn what I would and wouldn't like to include when I formed my own management company.

I wanted a coach who was current with practice today and not one who kept rehashing the same old concepts from the 1970’s and 80’s. Most importantly, I wanted a coach who was proactive, one who phoned me with answers and not questions. I wanted a coach who contacted me, and not one that I had to contact when I had a challenge or when my practice statistics dropped off. I wanted a coach that provided me with a step-by-step plan of action for the success of my practice, and not a consultant who provided seminars that were not based on a coherent, understandable system. I got sick and tired of having to rush to the back of the seminar room to buy the latest video or cassette series, only to have my practice constantly veer off in different directions as I sought the next new thing. Breakthrough Coaching, today, has its roots in my years of researching practice management programs.

Accountability is the difference between a consultant and a coach. A coach holds you accountable for taking the action steps that lead to success. Breakthrough Coaching has its foundation in the concept of accountability. After several years as a client of Breakthrough Coaching and achieving success in practice, the company hired me as a professional coach. Three years later, like the Remington Razor guy, I liked it so much I bought the company! Since I acquired the company, in 1998, its membership has quadrupled, and we now employ a nationwide team of sixteen professional coaches who have the first-hand experience and skills necessary to run a successful practice today. I'm especially proud of the fact that the American Chiropractic Association has endorsed the Breakthrough Coaching chiropractic practice management program.

What is the ultimate goal and purpose of Breakthrough Coaching?

The ultimate goal of the Breakthrough Coaching program is to effectively enable chiropractors to participate in the mainstream of healthcare and healthcare reimbursement, with a predictable, system-driven approach to practice procedures, protocols, and management. The Breakthrough Coaching system focuses on progression of active care, upgraded diagnostic capabilities that include objectively assessing the outcomes of care, and the documentation of patients’ functional capabilities.

What kind of results have doctors witnessed through applying the information presented in this program in their chiropractic practices?

Breakthrough Coaching Members are consistently among the highest earners in their professional communities. They report increased income, decreased stress, and more free time to pursue those activities that they enjoy the most. We've created a community of successful practitioners, who freely share their experiences and support each other. Family is the company’s highest value, and a focus on family infuses every aspect of the program. Members often remark on the deep sense of belonging to the family of chiropractic that their membership has brought them.

Do chiropractors have to be of any specific philosophy in order to appreciate the information presented in this program?

Our members come from every philosophical background and technique. The company focuses on the business of chiropractic with a deep appreciation and respect for the history of the profession. Our philosophy is that every chiropractor deserves to be rewarded with financial affluence. It is by creating affluent chiropractors that chiropractic will be recognized in its rightful role as the single most sensible form of health care available. When chiropractors are financially secure, they are more willing to dip into their bank accounts and support their state and local organizations and educational institutions. Only by supporting a concerted effort will chiropractors impact legislation and reimbursement in a way that will assure the long-term vitality of our profession.
